Seems a bit earlier this time, the first week seems to clash with the end of the school term which is frustrating.

Memories os staying up all night to watch Daley Thompson in '84...in fact I think I was pretty much nocturnal for the duration of the games biggrin

Not convinced about the 100m being all in one day if you want to see the best possible final - the Olympics is meant to be the best of the best, and you want that in the final!

Happy to eat my hat should I be wrong.

The women's 100m is all on day one (prelims, round 1, semis and final), but the men's is split over day 1 and day 2 (prelims and round 1, and then semis and final on the second day). It looks like the men's schedule is the usual way of doing it, so don't know why the women are having to run four times in one day.

I think the idea is "women are opening the LA26 games sort of thing, headlining Day1" ... seems a bit unnecessary perhaps ?

Probably a "piece of string" question.

I am planning to go to LA28.

Never been to the place. But it appears to be good parts, surrounded by gang violence st holes. (At least with Chicago it was "dont go south of 35th street" hehe )

Where would people recommend looking to get a hotel that's good for the games, and seeing "stuff" but not getting in a drive by?
