Hmmm. It occurs to me that having just rebuilt the front suspension with new bushes etc., the tracking may be incorrect.
Alas I can find no toe settings anywhere. Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers!

Ian,

Here are the figures for USA cars, probably not the same, but somewhere in the park. Since Camber and Castor are fixed, only Toe-in can be adjusted. Hope this helps.

Camber 0° 30' negative ± 0° 15'

Castor 3° ± 0° 30' (within 0° 30' side to
side)

Toe-in 2mm overall ± 1mm

Steering Axis Inclination (k.P.I.) 9° nominal

Front Hub Endfloat 0.08 - 0.13mm (0.003 -
0.005 in.)

Hope this helps. Happy Motoring! ...Jim'85TE

Ian,
I have the official service notes for your car, and can confirm those figures apply to domestic market cars as well.

Paul.

Blimey, Ian, that's a LOT of photocopying.
I can do specific sections if you like, e.g. engine or the technical data section. You can always contact me later for any section you need in the future.
What do you think?

Paul.

Cheers Paul, I though you might say that
I'd suggest you lend me it (for a fee )and I'll stand by the copier, but I understand you being reluctant to go down that road - I would be as well!
If the Esprit passes its MOT tomorrow (Sat) then the engine (and/or rear suspension) will probably be the next bit to be fettled... watch this space!

Ok, just say the word and I'll do the relevant sections.
There's a guy who advertises manuals in the Club Lotus magazine (or used to). That's how I got my Excel manual.
Overhauling the engine? Be prepared for a shock if you need pistons and liners. I supposed you could always use Vauxhall bits. (see 'The Solid Parts of an Esprit' thread)

I know the piston/ liner price... However I thought it was more the later Nikasil bored engines that were £ and the 'normal' engines merely £

But I am prepared to be corrected...

Yeah, the nikasil plated ones are the heart-attack inducing ones. The other ones just make you collapse in a heap clutching your wallet/credit cards, Arkwright-fashion.
My Excel SE has the Nikasil jobbies. Seems OK at 102k miles though. Fingers crossed.

Paul.
