Scottsdale Lotus (FYI to all Service Customers)

You may have read my earlier post about invoices from Scottsdale
indicating they were using M1 10W-30 in my S4 during its pervious
ownership...

…well I called today and spoke with Andy and he confirmed that they
like to use the light oil in the lower mileage engines (no
definition of lower mileage), even though Lotus recommends 20W50,
because they believe they run smoother.

Do what you like, but from what I've been told this is a very very
bad idea.

When I bought my 88 I used SDL Lotus once. At that time Larry was the Mechanic and he was pretty good. Larry moved on though.

If you want to know the best (and only Lotus certified as far as I know) Lotus mechanic in the valley; it is Glenn Gaines. If your interested in contacting him; let me know and I'll get his contact info. for you. He moved shop a short while ago so I'll need to give him a call and ask him where he is operating out of now (I have his home phone # but I wouldn't want to give that out unless he says it is ok).
