88 turbo headlights, 6" and 5 and 3 quarter
Discussion
hi,
got to replace the headlights on my 88 turbo (all 4 lights) i see that lotus performance do these in 6 and 5 and 3 quarter" sizes. I have put a tape measure across my lens on the main/dip and side lens and this seems to be the smaller of the two, but as i am in the u.k i thought these were suppose to be the 6". Maybe i am doing this wrong, does anyone know what the real difference between these two different lights are, apart from the quarter inch. Do they have the same fittings, lensses etc.....
thanks all

Pauli,
I have just replace all my headlights from PNM on 0151 630 6101. They use Cibie 6" for both inner and outer. This time they are both concave. The inner is a dedicated driving light. You need to modify your backing plate by simply cutting it in half. PNM will then supplu a half backing plate for your inner headlight. Not sure on prices but it is less than £200 for evething which is a massive saving on Lotus prices.
Tell Pete that you spoke to me and he'll look after you.
The lotus perormance set up is similar except they use a 5 and 3/4" inner light and a clamping adaptor.
Choice is upto you. Personally I prefer having all 4 headlights now look the same as they should have been.
cheers,
Dave Walters
