Boost Controller?
Discussion
Has anyone had any experience (or heard of anyone) installing a boost controller from Greddy or Blitz? I have used them in the past with an RX7 turbo I had and loved them. Since no one has mentioned the use of them with the Esprit, I just assumed they would not work with the GM ECU. Do they?
Most boost controllers take over boost control from the ECU. The ECU calculates fuel based on available air (and other factors,) so it will keep up with increased boost without a problem (to the best ability of the available components.)
As always, your biggest concern are things like engine internals and the transmission.

I believe you also posted this query on the US Yahoo group. Here is a copy of my reply.
I know Johan played with the APEXI and BLITZ boost controllers on his Extreme V8

I fitted a BLITZ SBC-iD2 to my S4. You have a number of problems. The ECU will not let you go above 1.25 bar anyway even if you have custom chip. It is in the firmware.
The the ECU cannot fuel the car correctly as the ECU has no longer any control of the boost. I could never get it to work to my satisfaction and have left the controler and in the car to monitor all the ECU functions but have gone back to ECU boost control.
