Hi,

I've been speaking to Andy Whittaker about buying one of his ALDL interface units for diagnosing the Esprit ECU with his Freescan software. Unfortunately, he had run out of the ALDL connectors. Does anyone know where I might pick one up, or have one for sale?

Cheers,

Charles

Kato and I have put together the kit Rob refers to above.

The GM ALDL connect shells are now getting very hard to source. I had to buy a mininum order 50 for the ALDL inferface kits we now supply.

BTW. The PUK interface does not come with the ALDL connector shell. The Andy Whittaker interface does not come with the correct 9 pin din plug for the laptop nor a good housing for the circuit board.

PS. John, you did not rely to my last email ?

I think the salient point here is that I need to spend *even more* time on LEW than I have already!

Thanks to all for your replies!

Talking about freescan, I've been looking into this software recently and obviously seems to be the ideal solution to finding problems with my father's SE, I'm not sure what I need in regards to ALDL or ODBD-II, and therefore if anybody has the right equipment for the SE and for sale please let me know the cost including P&P,

Cheers,

Brent.

Brent - the LEW shop has all that info - follow the link i posted above. The software is downloadable for free from andy whittakers site or lew, but LEW has written a user manual which they sell along with the correct cable for your car. ALDL is what you have on an SE, not OBD-II.

Well, if you are willing to part with it, drop me a line with a price! As long as it has the ALDL connector, I'm interested...

Charles

Hi Charles,

The connector cost me thirty quid from Andy W & then I had to pay another tenner for a female to female cable so I could connect to the laptop as it didn't have the correct 9 pin din plug that Dermot mentioned.

I'm willing to sell for what it cost.

If you're interested my Email is johnw@finders.co.uk

Cheers,

John W
