Having some trouble idling when restarting after the engine is hot. If I stop somewhere for a few minutes and restart , the idle drops to 350-400 and wont pickup until I drive for a minute or 2 then it's fine. The idle is good all day until I shut it off . Dealer suspects the fuel pump relay but I think maybe the EGR valve is sticking. Does anyone know where the EGR is ?

There is a valve on the charcoal cannister that is part of the EGR system. The charcoal filter is quite easy to spot low down in the rear left hand side of the engine compartment and is easily accessed from underneath the car. There is also a green coloured filter that seperates the oil from the air for the breather system. This is located on the top rear of the engine and is also easily recognisable as it has a pipe that comes off it that connects to the air filter cover.

I am not convinced that the EGR system is to blame for your problems. If the valve was not working correctly you would get a check engine light and a code 26 reading. Do you have access to Freescan? If not it may be worthwhile getting hold of it / shorting the pins on the ALDL connector to see whether any faults are recorded.

Good luck,
