How many miles/kms were on the esprit when you bought it? How many miles/kms do you put on it a year?

Just wondering who drives theirs the most/least.

Anybody daily drive theirs?

Purchased: 9/03 with 22,000
Now: 30,000, or 8,000 miles in 10 months.

Yes, I drive it.

I bought my '87 HC Turbo two years ago with 21,600 miles on the clock.

It now has covered 24,600 miles.

So that's 3000 miles in two years.

I do not intentionally use it so little, but what with self employment, a young family and other interests, the Esprit doesn't come out as much as it should.

I work in a really dreadful place, so using the Lotus for work and parking it in a shitty town for twelve hours at a time is not an option.

I am seriously considering whether I can justify keeping it, but for obvious reasons I don't really want to let it go...

Cheers

Pat.

98 GT3 - bought with 21k sold 12 months later with 36k.

98 V8 - bought with 35k, now has 77k so average 12k per year. My first 2 years with this car i did 18k pa as a daily driver - i do much less now as i have a commuter car also...

KM's v8 gets a lot of driving too i think..

Hi,

Bought my '85 MY Turbo in 6/'96 w/ 16k mi. on it. It now has 49,980 mi. on the clock, so about 4,250mi./yr., considering the short driving season (or couple months of poor snow - ), that's quite a regularly driven car. Happy Motoring! ...Jim'85TE

Greetings!
Mine is an 88' Turbo - fuel injection. It had about 45 thousand on it when I bought it last year. I have just over 46 thousand on it now...

When I'm home, I drive it about every other day - at least a good run out in the country and home. My job keeps me out of town quite a bit. I stored up some miles last fall putting in a new clutch that turned into a "might as well pull everything apart and clean it" job since it was apart anyway. I was only able to put in a couple hours a Saturday, so the work was slow.

I love to drive it! and have found that as exotics go, it is pretty reliable.

Drive topless!!!

Purchased my S4S in May of 2003 with 35K miles on it, and she currently has 48K on the clock, so about 1K per month. I drove her daily to work until last week when I found out that there has been 9 car thefts this year. This should decrease my miles/year.

drive my 86 daily, things seem to break less that way. had around 41,000 miles when I bought it (last January), now has about 53,000, so... about >10,000 a year.(hopefully i've still got a few thousand left). Probably a little more than that coming this year. The only times I don't drive it is when something breaks (lately, the lights). It's been reliable enough that it's never left me stranded, (come close a few times though).

I'm in about 9k a year so far, after 1 year of ownership. I drive about 17-18k a year on average, so it is being used about half the time for my car duties.

That's not good. Sorry to hear that. I recall the Esprit in For Your Eyes Only that took the thief with it! ....Boooom! wound't help your Esprit, but I'd bet the word would get out and the steeling would go way down! hahaha

Ya, I'd love to have something that:
a) didn't damage the Esprit,
b) knocked him/her out cold,
c) paged me!

Purchased my '89 Turbo FI in Feb 2004 with 6,200 miles (and the original tires!). 7,300 on the clock now; at this pace I'll drive 2600 miles this year.

Purchased my '87 Esprit with 30k on the clock August, 31st 2001. Presently at 48k... about 3k in '01, 7800 in '02, 4600 in '03 and less than 1500 in '04... LOG will make the difference!
Anyone looking for a project car please email me... car is located here in Western Massachusetts. I will put you in direct contact with the owner. This Esprit is of '78 vintage and needs a full restoration.
Asking price is 2 grand USD {usa dollars}. I thought the owner would follow through... but had my doubts. It's a decent car, just needs the time and money to bring her around. I was told there are many new parts to go along. Please email: swedishsurgeon@aol.com referance Esprit S1
Cheers,
Robert
