Esprit Insurance in US
Discussion
Folks,
Just wanted to let you know about the great rate I received from Hagerty Insurance (800-922-4050) for my 89 Non SE (since I just got it a few days ago.
I have full coverage (liability, comp, collision, road side protection, flatbed towing, rental car coverage etc) with $100,000/300,000/100,000 worth of coverage, and the rate is $459 a YEAR! (yup, that's right, under $500). They have NO mileage limitations (didn't specify one either on the phone or in the policy documents) as well!
I'm 32, divorced, insured as a 2nd car (my primary is a Landcruiser), 1 speeding ticket last year (and I told them about it).
Aint it great!

Hi,
Actuarially speaking, Esprit drivers as a whole are good risks (unlike those driving Vettes, Bimmers and Porches).
Unfortunately, most Insurance Cos. are hard pressed to pass up the revenue opportunity of taking advantage of another Sports Car owner.
I am insured through Leland-West Insurance Brokers out of Fresno, CA and while I do have a 5k mi. annual mileage restriction (more than sufficient given our short season here near Frosbite Falls), I do have the exact same coverage already mentioned here for $296/ year. That's right, for the entire year.
I am 50 yo and have never had a ticket on record for anything (I fight them all in court and, so far, the Citation Gods have been with me - knock on wood!), but I understand that even if I had one <2 years old, the rate would be the same. Happy Motoring! ...Jim'85TE

Jim,
I did call Leland West, they had quite a few restrictions on issuing a policy (like a 7 year residency restirction in the state the car was gonna be insured), and when they heard about the ticket, they completely refused to issue ANY kind of policy. I called them, American Family, GEICO, Progressive, American Express, and quite a few other boutique companies, this was the best I could find.
The no mileage restriction is actually quite nice! (although I wonder how much I could drive it in Maryland in any given year..)
