Hello everybody:
I ordered a set of S/S brake line kit and new pads for my 87 TE HC. What is the correct bleeding sequence? And what type/brand of brake fluid would you recommend?
Thanks
Isaac

Further, I am moving to Ann Arbor, Michigan this september. Any G-type Esprit owner in the area?

Zac,

The correct bleeding sequence would be to start with the caliper furthest away from the Master which would be the passenger side rear, then DS R, PS F, DS F. But that's if you are bleeding from the Master.

I prefer bleeding to the master using a power brake bleeder because you push the air in it's natural direction of travel - up, and ahead of the fluid. Use a Turkey Baster to keep the Master from overflowing and bleed until no bubbles are present. You just take the bleeder and attach it to the bleed nipple in the same sequence noted above.

The other way, you are unaturally forcing the air down through all the fluid which makes for a spotty job at best, and wastes alot of fluid to insure all the air gets expelled from the system.

There are a variety of power brake bleeders out there and for not too much money. Try: www.thedynoshop.net/power_bleeder.htm which is what I use. I also helped a friend make one using a 1 gallon garden sprayer from Ace Hardware and some clamps and tubes which works just as well (only w/o the pressure gauge) for under $20. Hope this helps. Happy Motoring! ...Jim'85TE

You can also us a length of clear plastic tubing attached to bleeder nipple. Run the plastic tubing to the master and pump away. It will form a recirculating system and will pump the excess fluid back through master resivoir. A one man job if no one is around to help.
