Guys - I know - it hurts, but there is more than enough evidence to support what I have been saying.

I have travelled extensively and I am often mistaken as an American when i travel ( looks and speaking english ) It is ALWAYS met with delight when I tell that I am Canadian and not American. There are endless stories of "Typical American" told all around the world. There are some Amerian travellers who stitch canadian flags on their back pack to join this delight.

The US lags the developed world on environmental issues. The repubicans have pushed that to a new level in an effort to stimulate a falling economy. Dropping CAFE has had huge setbacks on the use of light weight materials and fuel effecient technology. THe refusal to enter the Kyoto agreement further backs up the case of environmental non-concern. I dont meant just shoot the easy targets but as we all know this is not the place to have the discussion.

Sorry if you dont like it, but being american comes with a well founded reputation. Yes there is a huge list of advantages vs disadvantages and the advantages may out-weigh the bad things. But the bad things are not untrue. I am not claiming a superior mind nor am I saying that I am better as a Canadian. I am saying that the Americans have a common attitude about pollution, and specifically about Air Conditioning. I strongly disagree with this attitude as evidenced by this thread. It is based on science and research not opinions of corporate politics.

For sure Americans are not seen as very educated or worldly travellers around the world. That is not my opinion, that is what I have heard personally over and over throughout my travels.
There is no point pointing out the exceptions I am talking about the average, the normals.

So please dont senselessly release your refrigerant in to the air. This is the point to discuss about the Esprit. It is an important topic and the decion to waste the stuff stems from education and politics and
and attidude about what is right for the world vs what is right for the individual. The cost is a factor but for rich guys they dont seem to care.. if it cost a thousand dollars to fill the system then maybe the convestaion would be all about the leaks and not the environment.

Okay - we are done with all of this. If anybody wants to have a political discussion, take it to General Gassing. You can argue to your hearts content and there will, no doubt, be somebody of another nationality that will explain how both Canadian and US citizens are backward...

...The Lotus Esprit is the focus here, gentlemen...
