Hi~
These carbs look very fragile and different from those Kenshin I used to work with. How do you remove the pin holding the float on these DHLA 45?
Thanks.

Drive it out lengthwise. Use a small pin or drift and tap carefully on it's end. Don't strike the side of the wall/ stand the hole is in or you may crack it.

Zak,

Be very careful with the top. It is made of cast pot metal and fairly fragile as you note. They break easily, ask me how I know... dropped it and the support arm snapped off...what's another $120 right?

I placed mine on a closed vise (open a crack for the pin to get out. Use a small punch or nail and tap lightly until some portion of the pin extends. Then, using a needle nosed pliers, gently pull and rotate the pin 'til it comes out, easy does it. Fairly straightforward. Happy Motoring! ...Jim'85TE
