Well, I'm sort of vacillating..need some advice here.

My 89 is a canary yellow on the outside, with the black/tan (is that what the color is??) interior. The carpets are all black including mats and the "fixed" carpet all around.

I would really like to replace this whole thing with something lighter in color, probably tan, because:

- it's worn
- gets really hot in warm weather
- I think lighter will make the car a bit more "inviting"

Now, I COULD order everything from SJS and be done with it, but just wondering if there's any other options.

Interestingly, the black "mats" (with the logo) are actually in pretty good condition and can be reused, so I'm wondering if changing the "fixed" part with something lighter, may actually look cool, with the whole 2 tone look.

Thoughts?

I have a 90 turbo in Norfolk Mustard Yellow. I replaced my caprets about a year and a half ago from beinge to black with magnolia piping. The reason I went from light to dark is because the lighter colours mark easier and don't look as good after a bit. The high sills always get caught by your feet etc. Mine is wearing well in black and still looks good. If I would have gone for beige then it would have marks all over them.
Bought the kit from SJ Sports cars and it comes in 13 seperate pieces. You can choose any colour and also choose what colour piping you want. They also do the contact adhesive.

Hope this helps,

From what I've heard the kit from Lotus is slightly better than the SJ one. Dave's right about the colour. I went from Tan to Black because it looks better and wears better.

What's the cost of the Lotus kit? (I'm in US btw). Also, something worth considering is that I have black leather seats (original leather), with the whole black carpet, the car does feel pretty "dark" inside. My thoughts were that it would be cheaper to replace the carpet, while keeping the same seats vs changing the seats.
