considering becoming a esprit owner next year
Discussion
There are currently 58 Esprits on LEW's for sale page.
This will be my sole resource when buying my next Esprit, And it's the only place that i'm currently advertising my Esprit.
I would rather part-exchange than put an ad in the motoring press, They don't have this many Esprits in - ever, And you get SO many cold callers and dreamers that it gets to the point that vendors get snappy to all callers.
With this site,by finding it,it at least shows the caller has a real Esprit interest. It's a friendly place, and a lot of the cars for sale belong to list members too.
Good luck.

Hi Duncan.
(stated with a hint of Rocky Horror narration)
If I may...If I can...Answer your question...
Yes.
Yes, your have gone quite mad.
You clearly have Lotus fever. A condition that often occurs in those that have already contracted Automotive Madness. There is no cure. You can only treat the sypmtoms with a nice pocket book and a lot of time spent around cars. Lotus fever however is particularly dangerous. Unlike the usual British car-itiss (a desire to own MG's, Austin Healeys, old TR's and the like), Lotus fever can create problems with the local traffic enforcer. Lotus fever seems to bring with it a thing called speed creep. And in a Esprit, that speed creep gets noticed by the driver around 110MPH followed by blue flashing lights!!!
That being said... I love My Esprit!!!
Good luck,
Drive Topless!!!

I like it. Thats exactly what I said while standing in court. I wont say how far the needle went or what the nice me plod believed I was doing. Only put me down as 98.5 (He liked the car)
Still got a heafty whole in the pocket and 5 stars to boot.
On and back to the thread. You are mad but madmen are seldom unhappy.
Thanks for the further replies i must point out i have never claimed to be sane i have owned 4 classic escorts (2xmk1 2xmk2) so well used to cars breaking down and generally being a money pit, i have a feeling the lotus will be no different.
given the age of the car will rust be an issue? i have seen a couple stating new chassis fitted
that sounds drastic
Also whats the performance difference between N/A and turbo models? will i wish for the turbo if i buy the n/a?
cheers

i have always really loved the Esprit and often aspired to own one does the driving/owning experience live upto the dream?
