Hi,

Does anybody know where I can get a model, preferably a 1/18th scale, of an Esprit S3 (Not turbo)?

Many thanks,

Brent.

Hi,
I tried, but could not find one either. Auto Art do quite a few 1/18 'G's including:
White Turbo
Black turbo
Essex turbo
Bond turbo (ski's on back)
Bond S1 (as submarine,fins out)
Bond S1 (as road car)
Yellow S1
Red S1
Green S1

I have seen all of the above, but am not aware of them doing an S3 or even an S2 model. Most of the above are done in small scale too. Normally a few at donnington.

Hi,

Yes, Autoart are the only ones to my knowledge that make a 1/18th scale esprit. However, there are some very nice very detailed monogram/revell etc plastic kits in 1/24 scale. I have an Esprit Turbo (S car), a Sport 300 and a G car (S2?). I have a spare esprit turbo kit if you are interested.

Just to show you how good these can look if you are a good builder take a look at this link:

www.kunta-ripley.com/m_cars/1_euro/lotus/esprit.htm

Of course you can modify them to look like your own car, which is something you can't do easily with the autoart metal kits.

If your interested mail me:

Brent,did you hear that?

"you can modify them to look like your own car"

Buy an S3 and a turbo kit, swap a few bits about, and hey presto! You can do your turbo louvre and sill mods without upsetting anyone!

Paul, that is true, also it would also be a lot less hastle, and a lot cheaper.

After spending quality time with my real esprit this morning, that is re-fitting the alternator, and giving it it's first wash, it looks great, and therefore I'm slowly convincing myself I should leave it alone...we'll see!

Cheers.

Auto Art do the S2 in 1/18 & 1/43 (I have them) but as far as I recall they have not produced an N/A S3 yet.

There are three (colour) japanese versions of the S3 made by a company called Tomica however they are very very hard to find i've only ever seen one for sale on Ebay and that went for £40.00. The Autoart one's are quite common and modern versions in 1:43 scale are now available.

Tony,

Thanks for the info, at least now I know they are out there - somewhere!

I don't think your collection is sad, I'm surrounded my models (not women unfortunately), infact I've acquired a few more off e-bay, just got to work out where to put them before they arrive!

Cheers,

Brent.
