Just bought a 93 Esprit SE Highwing. The car needs a new clutch and shocks. Any recommendations?

I would suggest PUK for an uprated clutch or going to a specialist such as SJ sportscars for a standard item. Regarding the suspension, I have just fitted LEDA adjustables. They are extremely good, although I can not fit the fronts until they manufacture some shorter springs for me. At @ £730 for the full kit they are pretty good value in my opinion. SJ sportscars also do standard and adjustable units for reasonable money. When I replaced the rears on my 1993 highwing, both had the lowermost coil broken.

If you don' t mind me asking, how much did you pay for the car in the end and has it got full Lotus history? I replied to your original post.

I had the PUK +35% torque clutch installed by my Lotus/Ferrari mechanic. He was very impressed with the design. I'm impressed that I get a real nice and somewhat light pedal compared to what I hear about the S4s clutches in that they are much harder to poress, yet PUK claims the one I got for my 91SE is actually stronger than the S4s one.

I was looking at the 25% upgraded version from PUK. Still considering the stock setup from SJ since it is much cheaper. Not sure if the upgraded clutch setup is worth the high premium.

Still clueless about the shocks and springs, so many options out there.

Aiming to minimize the cost factor also.

Hi Danny, sorry for delay response.

I paid about $15,000 USD for the car. It does not have a full Lotus service history because the factory authorized dealer in HK has a shoddy reputation and most owners bring their cars to the independents. The car does need a new clutch and shocks/springs.

Do you think anyone would be interested in a 1990 SE for a parts car for about $5,000USD. It's running but needs new main bearings.

I am in HK.

Both your car and the car that is being sold for spares are very cheap! The only problem would be the cost and hassle of shipping the car to a buyer outside of Hong Kong so I doubt if you will get many takers.
