I'm thinking about stripping my Esprit down and re-building the chassis / suspension etc. (less that 40K miles on it and the Engine / Transmission is fine so I don’t intend to touch any of this aside from changing belts and perhaps drive seals just as it's a good time to do it).

I thought I would get all the separate components (wishbones, trailing arms, link rods, callipers, etc etc) powder coated, but I think the best thing to do with the chassis would be to have it re-galvanised. Has anyone any experience with this? I’ve had Land Rover chassis galvanised before but it’s a little different. Any ides who would do a Lotus chassis?

Otherwise I would just go for 2pack but I’m wondering how much the centre box (member) flexes?

Also, how easy is it to get the body off?
I have a hydrolic ramp and thought I would make a fraim around the ramp to hold the body and then let the ramp down with the chassis. Anyone done this before?

Thanks,
Gareth

One of the american chaps who rebuilt a SE with a mixture of other esprits has a good site showing tthe removal of the body from the chassis through to rebuiling into a new car.

I don't have the site address here at work but I expect one of the americans will be helpful with this.
