The round Lotus badge on the rear plinth was introduced as a running change later in production. The first S4 cars do not have it.
Seat piping was an option. When Lotus Cars USA president Arnie Johnson ordered new cars he would go through an option list and check different color combinations and options that he thought might look good, work well together, or be desirable. It's all for the sake of variety.
