Hi,
I'm contemplating upgrading the brakes on my S4, before taking her to a few track days. I was thinking of moving the front Brembos to the rear and fitting Tarox 6 pots (325mm discs) at the front. Am I wise to do this? - will there be a big enough difference in stopping power to justify the expense?

I had similar idea , AP 4 pot for front and rear. But some expertise said S4 master cylinder wasn't designed to handle this task. And he strongly recommend "don't do it" I had 320mm AP 4 pod in front, and brembo crossdrilled 2 pod in rear.Stopping power is totally difference. BTW mine is S4S.

Seems like a lot of work just for a few track days. I thought my S4s brakes were fine for 8-9/10ths running on street tires and Porterfield street/track pads (R4-s?). The pads died an early death but the car stopped just fine until they did. If I were to do it regularly, I'd get some track only pads.

I've been thinking of upgrading my S4's front brakes as well (TMC brakes on it now), but I don't think I've seen Tarox 6 pots around. Where did you find them and how much?

You can't fit the front calipers onto the rear as they don't have the handbrake mechanism

Ahh, handbrake - quite useful to have that I suppose! After a bit of thought that Brembo rear set-up would have had far too much rear bias. The Tarox kits (both 6 & 10 pot!)are available from www.motorsportworld.co.uk. The 6 pot kit for the S4 costs £1505. As I have a disused airfield nearby this setup would get more use than a few track days!
