My check engine light is on. I want to have a local mechanic do a quick diagnostic. He doesn't know where the plug is located. Neither do I.

Anyone have the quick answer??

Thanks,

Dirk Carnahan

two locations.... one in the rear by the battery at the bottom of the fuse/relay box, second is inside on passenger side under the dash and is loose.

You may also find the code to be P00171 - system too lean, bank 1. This is a typical error which, in many cases, is from gasoline which the ECM doesn't like the taste of. I have found Shell always gives me check engine lights, I switched to Chevron and they never occur.

That's exactly what it was.

They also noticed a leaky rear transaxle seal.

Not a big deal, but I'm glad to find things before they
become a big deal.

Thanks again,

Dirk

As for the rear axle shaft seal leaking, it's fairly typical. To get an idea of how bad the leak is, I'd clean the gearbox down (I use CRC Brake cleaner, works wonders) replace the lube (Mobil SHC630) and keep an eye on it. If it's not that bad, I'd probably leave until it's more serious.
