Question about new style taillight operation

I'm tring to get some info on the operation of the new style taillights. I have the upgrade kit and am in the middle of installing it, but I am a little confused on the wiring arrangement with the new lights. They are a bit different from the stock TMC setup. If anyone could enlighten me as to what order the new lights work in (i.e. which sections are for parking light,turn signal,brake, etc.) I would have thought that the amber center of the outboard lamp would be the turn signal, but there is no bulb there(there is a socket) and it is not wired into the harness. These lights were sealed new from the factory this way, I opened the box.
If anyone could shed some light on the subject for me I would really apreciate it.
