first I laughed when I read the special page about this... - how hard can it be to fit it in the boot?,,,
then I tried to do it ............ laugh turns to a he ..he.. hey...?? wtf>>???? How the heck?... I almost cried... lol.
Then I gave up. Totally unlike me,,, the shame of all my stuff on the parking floor, and then having to load it back in without the roof stowed..I'll give it another try tomorrow but geeze,,, it is not as easy as it first appears..

It does fit, eventually! Should have been one of the challenges on 'The Krypton Factor' though...

Lol. This gave me loads of amusement when I bought my first S350 a couple of years ago.

Maybe there's a few ways to do it, but I get the roof in the boot as below and now I know how to do it, it's simple and dead quick:

- hold the panel so it's:
a) interior side facing up
b) with the plastic clamps close to you

- stand behind the car and feed the corner furthest away from you on the left into the boot. You effectively feed the corner plus the metal plate under the overhang of the boot.

- you should then be able to rotate the panel whilst still supporting its weight so that the right hand side clears the bodywork on the right hand side. You'll need to vary (reduce) the angle that the panel is sloped whilst rotating it into the boot.

Only niggle I find is that it's a very close fit on the left and the rotation tends to easily cause minor nicks in either the edge of the panel or the edge of the underside of the overhanging bodywork. Need to watch that.

I'm assuming you have the bag, if not keep a towel to wrap the panel in, very easy to pick up minor scratches with it being painted-side-down.

Don't bank on storing lots in the boot afterwards though!!

Look on the bright side, you'll be a lot better at origami afterwards!!
