I have been competing in sprints at Goodwood since 1994 and have always preferred the 2 lap format (better value for money and more fun).
So why have Goodwood stopped motor clubs running 2 lap Sprints at the circuit this year.

the reason is quoted as noise issues, however, the practice laps are still over 2 laps (only the first one timed) which makes a bit of a nonsense of it. Personaly, I think a one lap is better suited to sprinting as all our other events are over far shorter distances, not that I have ever done a 2 lapper there.

I keep reading this and thinking, 'what a brilliant idea'... The Rally quattro's not brilliant at trackdays generally, the set-ups more for Gravel/Loose or Hillclimb, so pounding round a ciruit for 10 laps is just mechanical abuse for little or no gain... But over a couple of sprint laps it'd make for a good crack without huge fiscal pain... If you know what I mean.

So someone using slicks can't get a proper lap in.
