Off to FoS on Friday, I just usually park in the public car park, but this year the other half has booked Super Car Parking in Performance Parking West.

We’re taking our 2010 Vantage and Im a little anxious about the route in to get to it once we are off the public road, I know that compared to what else is likely to be in there, we are a little fish in a big pond, my concern is

Is the route level and flat ?

What’s the ground clearance like ?, as said I suspect it will be setup for more exotic stuff with less ground clearance than I have, but just wanted some reassurance.

It’s a sportshift which is a bit of a pain at slow speeds which is also adding to my nervousness but as long as I don’t have to reverse it up hill though it should be OK ! ( well know foible with this particular gearbox )

You shouldn’t have any real trouble. Entrance to performance parking west is off Kennel Hill and the road you’re directed on to is paved behind the Kennels themselves on to the estate. After a couple of hundred yards you then turn left on to an unmade but reasonably well kept track road, which takes you up hill towards the parking.

As you get towards the top of the hill, there s a turn left in to the normal parking, but you should be directed straight ahead on to a temporary metal road, make sure you display or flag your pass so the parking Marshals know your in the performance parking. Once you re on the temporary road you re all good, eventually you ll make it in to the performance parking area, and it s just like parking on a flat field.

Access today was pretty straightforward and easy, although there were a couple of sizeable ‘lip bumps’ getting on and off the temporary metal road. The way out was slightly different, through the main car park and through the woods out on to Kennel Hill. But again nothing too nasty, I didn’t have any issues. The ground clearance on my C55 is about 5.5 inches, I’m guessing your Vantage is likely 4.5 - 4.7 unless you have the V12 which will be lower

I had no issues today arriving and leaving in PP West. The exit route across the normal car park and through the wood was quite interesting but it didn’t cause any issues and I was in a Lamborghini Huracan. Your car will get dusty though, that’s for certain!
