So, following on from a previous thread (https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&t=1677363&mid=214085), I would like to store my bikes on a wall mount solution in my garage.

However I am not sure how confident I am that the breeze blocks won't crumble or crack with the weight of the bikes. Anyone got any advice or hang their bikes from similar blocks to the below? My alternative solution will be a freestanding stand like the Feedback Velo Cache.

They'll be fine. It's what's behind most plastered masonry walls that you happily hang kitchen cupboards, big TVs, mirrors, pictures etc. off anyway.

Just use decent rawl plugs, drill the correct depth / diameter holes for them, use the correct length screws and so long as the rack has a decent spread of fixing points it will be fine.

As above, just use correct fixings and drill bits

Also double check where you can hang the bikes, as some carbon frames cant be hung in certain ways

Been hanging 6 bikes by their front or rear wheels on hangers fitted into breeze blocks. No issues at all in six years.

Screwfix do a lot of different hooks. You want a long length 150mm to hold the frame on an adults bike. I have some bikes hung from small hooks in the rafters.

I have 4 of these screwed to breezeblock walls in our garage. For the first couple of days I was a bit worried they wouldn't hold the bikes (especially my cheap, heavy mtb) and come crashing down on the car. 3 years later and still no issues smile

I use that type of hanger too, mounted with rawl bolts, without problems.

Through drilling two perfectly vertically aligned holes in stty breeze blocks can be a challenge

Drill top hole, fit bracket, drill bottom hole using a pilot drill...

I know how to do it but with coarse blocks it can crumble readily, or with stty ones you can hit a hard spot/element. Many's a time I've been left with a bullet strike mark or a slot hehe

Thanks all, that gives me some more confidence. Tempted to go for the ones below but get some better screws and rawl plugs as recommend in some of the reviews.

I just use a simple hook on the back wheel with the non drive train side towards the wall, they hang vertically down, pedal and bars stop damage to frame.
