"Aqua Blue Sport has unveiled its 2018 3T designed team bike, the STRADA.

It will be the first ever road bike to ride at the highest levels of international professional cycling with the unique SRAM 1x drivetrain system."

maybe just a publicity stunt in that a double clanger might appear in some events?

Doubtful - seeing some other stuff on GCN & the like - the frame won't take a front mech & since the manufacturer is a partner, they won't be able to use different frames

I love the look of this bike and find the idea interesting.

I’m sure they have worked out any gearing issues, the rear cassette looks huge.

Bike definitely has no capability for a different set up with the crank, only swapping rear cassette ratios.

I can see the logic of 1x11 on CX and moutain bikes where a trouble free drive and a lack of places for mud to accumulate is a plus and worth loosing a bit of smoothness for. However, on a road bike, I get annoyed when my gear change results in my cadence leaping from 85 rpm to 98 rpm never mind 85 to 105rpm!
