Following on from my post about the Dale Synapse I've been exploring other options and have come across this from Cube - https://www.rutlandcycling.com/bikes/road-bikes/cu...

From what I can see it matches the Synapse in terms of frame, group etc but is significantly cheaper. What are they like? I want a taller front end due to lower back pain hence like the look of both this and the Dale over a more racey geo but I know nothing really about the brand?

Cube are a decent brand. My very first proper mtb was a Cube and it's still going strong as my wife's steed. They've always provided decent value for money especially versus the bigger, well known brands. Not the cheapest but far from the dearest

They also supply bikes for professional road teams.

My Cube experience is limited to a 2014 model Peloton, which was my first bike. Ali frame, Shimano Sora full group set etc. It has been great and I used it for my Ironman in 2016 then ‘retired’ it to a harder life permanently on my turbo trainer. It’s being upgraded to Shimano 105 as I type simply because all my bikes will then be running similar equipment. Despite being crashed a couple of times it has only ever needed standard maintenance so I’d happily buy another Cube.

Massively popular brand here in DE.

We see loads of direct-to-consumer Canyon and Rose bikes, of course, but Cube are up there with Trek, Specialized and Cervelo in popularity as a shop-bought brand. Lovely things and great value.

If the geometry works for you, go for it.

Snap on so many levels.
My first road bike was a 2014 Peloton which I had for about a year on Shimano Sora. A new set of wheels made it into a brilliant bike.
I got bored of 9spd so had it upgraded to 105 5800.

6 months later I sold it for far too little money and regret it.

They are great bikes, the support network were very helpful when I wanted more information.

I have a 2016 Cube Attain as my winter road bike (I always seem to forget about cycling when it's warm and sunny...) and for the price I paid - £999 in 2016 - it's been great.

The only negative I can think of is that the internal cable routing is a little noisy over particularly rough roads however it's a minor annoyance for a bike that offers a lot of spec for very little money.

Here is my 2015 Peloton. Paid £800 for it as an end of season jobby. Full 105 which is excellent. I'd say go for it!

I also have the 2016 Attain GTC Pro Disc which I took out to the Alps this summer - tackled the Etape and a few other climbs. The bike has been great - no real issues to speak of. I'd agree that if you find it a decent fit then I can't think of a much better package for the price.
