Hi guys, very quick question as I am in the middle of trying to fit my roof bars and Thule cycle carriers.
The bars are Whispbar Aero and the bike carriers are Thule 598 with 'T-Track' fitting.

The instructions are poor so I need to know if I slide the T-bar in the groove above the rubber seal shown above or do I need to slice the rubber with a Stanley knife so that it is enclosed in the rubber. Any ideas?
Hoping to have this sorted before the football at 2!!

Mine are a little different and have a push in rubber strip (Thule wingbar edge). T-track should definitely be metal on metal so I would go with your first option

Edit - just googled some whispbar fitting instructions - 100% your first option. They also recommend applying some silicone grease to the rubber so that the t track slides over it nicely

Thank you for your quick reply and for going to the trouble to Google it, I was pretty sure that was the correct option but had seen videos of people trimming/cutting rubber and did not want to make a costly mistake.
Great tip with the silicone spray, they were on in seconds. Finished just in time for the game smile

I have the same. They are a pain in the backside at times. If you can't find silicon spray, fairy liquid is a good get out of jail free card.

Thanks, I like the bike, bit different going to Aluminium with Discs coming from Carbon with rim brakes but loving it and with the Zonda wheels it's pretty responsive. Life shall be much easier now I can get the thing on the roof of the car! smile

I have the Whispbar and it’s defiantly on top of the rubber - do not cut it!

It all works albeit a bit tough at times smile
