Warm casual clothing for a 2mile ride to the gym?
Discussion
Right, I've not been to the gym for the past few months because this time round I couldn't be bothred riding in the cold (10'c or lower), and it's been pissing me off. So I want some warm clothing that'll comfortably get me there where I can then change into my own tshirt/shorts or joggers/joggin bottoms.
can anyone suggest anything?
- route is only 2miles and takes 10-15min max.
- i'm a casual rider so don't want some £50+ specific cycling clothes. I'm after something casual, perhaps sweat pants/hoodie? (hence posting here).
- a plus would be if I could put it in a gym bag and use it as a change of clothes after using the gym at work (which ive yet to use). the commute is on foot/train and involves no bikes.
- something warm for the legs as sometimes my knees feel weird from the cold until I've warmed up.
- waterproof isn't important as I won't even bother riding to the gym in the rain but I have no choice on the way back. I just put it on the heater to dry out.
at the moment all i can possibly think of is maybe getting some kind of thick fleece-lined hoodie and jogging bottoms from the likes of adidas/nike etc. with 1-2 tshirts underneath but i welcome any suggestions.

For such a short ride I wouldn't bother with any cycling-specific clothes. Just wear what you have and layer up. A pair of tracksuit bottoms/combats assuming they're not too baggy and don't get tangled in the chain together with a windproof top / hoody and a t-shirt or two should be sufficient. Keep your head warm with a thin skull cap / buff - can be worn under a helmet if you use one. Oh and gloves - nothing worse than frosty fingers!
