Hi all,
I want to upgrade the forks on my 2015 Giant XTC, currently running Rock Shox recons which are OK but I want to upgrade.
What are peoples recommendations? Fox float maybe?
My bike is hard tail XC so I don't want super long travel but something plush and able to handle some big bumps.

What's your budget?
And what exactly is wrong with the Recons? What don't you like about them? The XTC is an XC bike though and through, so you're looking at 100-120mm ish forks, your not going to really find much that will take 'big hits'.
Something like a Fox 32 SC would be a top end option, but you're looking at circa a grand for that. RS equivalent is a SID
Cheaper option would be something like a Reba at about half the price.
If be tempted to look at the MRP loop as I hear nothing but good things about them.

I'll now sit back as everyone recommends you a Fox 40, Lyrik, or something else equally inappropriate.

Thanks. Budget is 3-400 and you're right on travel that I won't want more than 120mm. Current are 100. They're not bad but I'm just wanting to start upgrading my bike - man maths and all that. Just purchased a set of hope tech 3 x2 brakes and will then be looking at mechs and forks.

I'd be looking at Rebas then tbh. Reasonably priced, and pretty reliable. Pikes are great forks but OTT for that sort of bike.
Anything from Fox will be substantially more.

If you're willing to look second hand then look kit for Fox 32 variants.
One of the German retailers was knocking out last year's 32s for cheap recently, but can't remember who it was.

I have Reba's on my Trek Fuel which I guess is a similar style bike as in more suited to XC and I've found them really good with very little maintenance required. Agree things like the Lyrik or Fox 36's would be overkill for what you're looking for, though I do love the Lyrik on my enduro bike it's far from ideal for XC
