MTB loops Devon/Dorset?

I'm after a good day out in Devon or Dorset that will interest me but not kill my wife. A loop from a campsite would be ideal... Any suggestions? Dartmoor seems like a good place to start, unless the local bylaws are a pita like the New Forest.

How about the Tarka Trail, lots of decent stops along the route for a pint and a snack.
