Garmin 810 dead after update

Have you tried having it turned off, plugging it into your computer and seeing if garmin express can link with it and perhaps reinstall the update...sounds like a failed update.
I think you are right, Eh yeah and after i did that it seemed as though this may have sorted it. But alas no. I think what i can do is plug it in, find the older software online and parachute it onto the garmin via file explorer and bypass using express. Have you tried holding the power button for 30 secs? Sometimes that sorts the odd issues I've had....although usually that is when it freezes/crashes (edge 1000).
Aside from your idea, I'm not sure. I'd be pretty careful about using file explorer to load firmware onto it to be honest.
edit - try a factory reset?

yeah i was thinking of doing this file transfer via garmins own site. i have tried the reset. but not for 30 seconds. i might give that a spin and then see. Aside from your idea, I'm not sure. I'd be pretty careful about using file explorer to load firmware onto it to be honest.

Update: the trick is to press down in the left hand corner of the screen while holding the on/pff button and that seems to have done the trick. thanks for all the help/suggestions
Hmmm, that certainly sounds like a weird fault! Do you have to do that every time to start it up?E65Ross said:
