I think i'm looking for something that doesn't exist, but.....

Is it possible to get a pair of wheels that are strong, light........................................and affordable?!

I’m thirteen stone and race on second hand 20f/24r deep section carbon tubs, with tyres blown up to 28psi, and I’ve suffered exactly no wheel troubles, apart from the odd unstuck tub...

What are you doing to kill yours?

I'm not killing them, I don't race I just commute and go riding on all surfaces.

Just thinking of upgrading to lighter wheels without sacrificing strength.

I have a pair of Hunt tubeless that I race on.

They weight about 1,500 grams and cost about £350 - have a look on their website

or try the Zondas. I have had 2 sets of the rims braked wheels and they run forever.
