I'd be surprised if it went ahead

the organiser was waiting on the 24h forecast to be updated this morning with a decision then being made before midday today

Yes just got the email saying it is cancelled. No refunds! That’s the second time in four years. Cat ford Cycling club riders must have a lifetime supply of gels and stuff!

To be fair, the weather now is lousy and it is going to get worse.

I can't believe they don't offer refunds (and people still sign up to do it with that clause!!!)

I understand why from their perspective, obviously, but that's a pretty bitter pill to swallow

It’s an evil course at the best of times, with yesterday’s weather it would have been deeply un enjoyable anyway. I believe they are donating any money ( after costs are covered ) to charity. Trying to Organise a Sportive at this time of of year is a pretty daft idea IMO, as is paying to ride on an open road, but that’s just my opinion.
