App like Strava for personalised route creation?
Discussion
I think I may have asked this before but hey ho...
Any recommendations for Apps that will track a cycled route (with location services) and mark it on a map. Then the ability to go back and setup sections (start / finish points) for future time trials.
Reason being, Strava has reduced it's granular ability, the resolution is not as close anymore, and I'm also fed up with all the stupid pre-set names that people have called my local routes, purely because they got there first.
I don't need to share with a community etc. Completely personal use.

Have a look at the Maps.me app. We downloaded it to follow a route done by the place where we hired some bikes. The guy set it up with way points, and you can put notes and stuff on it. I've not used the functionality but it does have an option for tracking routes so might be worth a go.
i use Komoot and have done since testing all the "free apps" a couple of years ago. i had to buy a subscription for my LEJOG adventure but after it expired i was left with all the UK maps free for life.
It's great but needs practice to use and get the best from it. It even shows different surface types so you can see the routes to avoid. However it will, when "road touring", direct you down some dubious bridle paths.
