Stopping gorse without getting too hot...

There's lots of gorse round me which encroaches on the single track and makes a mess of my legs. I use fingered gloves already as gorse thorns are a bugger and seems to get stuck into your knuckles. It doesn't seem to get stuck in your legs in the same way but give you some grazes.

But I don't want to get hot, and don't want chaps! Any suggestions?
