Hi

I have just spend longer than Id care to admit on the Lime app and Youtube trying to get answers however am none the wiser so Id welcome any help here

I need to visit a client tomorrow (strike day)
The office is a very comfortable bike ride and Id usually take my Brompton - unfortunately one of the kids has it this week
Santander is my second choice however there isnt a convenient rack to park it at my destination

Consequently Im considering a Lime bike but have zero experience other than theyre usually ridden by antisocial suicidal nutjobs

The app shows that there are currently lots available around Kings Cross and a P sign to leave it directly outside my destination
What I cant see on the app is any red zones eg the parks or other boundaries with parking exclusions
Im currently at home in Leeds, does the app fill in the restrictions only when I get to London?

My route is fine, my anxiety is what to do if the e-bike bay at the P is full when I arrive
The P isnt shaded defined by Lime as 'preferred' which I interpret as dump here if you can otherwise park parallel to the kerb in a semi responsible manner
On Google streetview the parking zone looks like a repurposed motorcycle bay if that helps
There are others marked on the map but none as convenient

Cheers

Depends on where you are usually.

Some boroughs mandate parking at a P, others don’t mind. It would be rare for a P spot to be full but it doesn’t happen, there’s a way of hacking the system to park them anyway but probably you’ve done the journey now.

Yes, it was nice and easy thanks

Just in case I use another one in the future, how would I avoid accidentally hacking the parking thing please?

I think from memory you go through the help thing saying my bike has a fault. Eventually it lets you just end it anywhere.

Another hack is parking it wherever and taking a photo of a properly parked on instead hehe
