After battling a puncture last night surrounded by millions of flies, my mini pump was a liability.

Any recommendations on those new fancy pocket sized pumps that's good value whilst being relatively compact and light.

Was looking at this one - pinkbike.com/buysell/newad/?category=75

I recently bought this, and I honestly think it’s one of my best bike purchases of the last year, a real game changer.

One of my riding buddies has a Bontrager Air Rush, no complaints and works really well. He's now the designated air pump guy of our group smile I was sceptical at first but they're a game changer especially on group rides when you don;t want to hold the group up.

I expect they all come out of the same factory in china though....

How long do they hold charge for? My worry with these is that I get a puncture so rarely (though typically I've had three in the last two weeks!) that I'd pull it out and it wouldnt work.

I can get approx 3x inflations (i.e. completely flat to full) out of mine from a single charge, which is all you really need to be honest.

I just charge it the night before I go out. I’ve stopped carrying a hand pump on my rides now.

I charged mine before my first outdoor ride of year at the start of May and it was still indicating fully charged when I checked it yesterday.

Mine seems to have held charge for 2 months since I last required it, kept indoors which will definitely help battery life. if it's in the garage over winter you'll probably see significant drop off.

Who would have thought there could be so much analysis on a pump.

Think I'll go for the Magic Shine unit.

which brand / pump? I have one and I took it out of my saddle bag, the pump randomly dies.. and the one time I needed it, it was dead. Lucky enough I had a mini pump.

I've got the magic shine airro.

I've used it many times to adjust air pressure when going from road to off-road and back again.

It has a reputation for being very robust, but mine eventually stopped working.

Magic Shine sent out a replacement the next day. Hopefully a one-off.

Buy one with a PSI guage - I didnt and regret it a little

They are amazing

I get circa 2/3 full pumps but it charges quickly and if im on a trip / lonfg day I take a power bank anyway which can charge it

I have the smallest Flextail pump and its been excellent
Really compact to fit in a pocket, will do 2 or 3 large volume gravel tyres on a charge, the gauge is accurate and the battery doesn't really drain since I've had it.

Flextail always have random sales on so waiting and grab at 20+% off
