Try chain reaction, they have a huge sale on at the moment, although at that money you can get some very good used bikes off ebay or pinkbike?

Yes chain reaction for sure, worth a look, I got my new hardtail from there last week.

My budget was higher and I got an awesome hardtail with a great spec for 1k instead of original RRP of £1999.

If you're Blackburn based, as your user name suggests, it might be worth talking to Michael at On Yer Bike Blackburn / Burnley - you never know what he might have in stock that he'll do a deal on. I think OYB are Cube dealers now and Cube turn out some decent stuff. Lots of local off-roading to be had hereabouts too!

Voodoo hoodoo from halfrauds. Build it yourself from the box. Excellent bike, check the bike radar review.

Light, great brakes, air fork and most importantly great tyres. I love mine, you should have a bit left over for accessories too. I paid less than £400 for mine after british cycling discount and it was on sale
