Don't think i could even manage 20.5 miles a day for a year, but this guy is trying to do over 76,000 miles in a year to beat a 75 year-old record.

Seriously? 205 mile average a day means at least 13 hours a day in the saddle, every day, every week.

RAAM is 'only' 3000 miles, a relative sprint smile

He's going to do a lot more per day than that, with the short, cold days lately he has only really been doing 180ish a day with a couple around 150 so I'll imagine in the summer there will be some very long ones.

I'm keeping an eye on how he's going, I've still got sore legs after my ride on Sunday!

And his bike is running Shimano Sora.
With the thumb buttons! The horror!
I always knew cheap groupsets were unproven, unreliable and should be avoided.

Err no. The key to this record is its every day for a year and its in this stty country with its constant winds, rain, cold, hills.
