Is there anyone who can help me buy some mountain spares on the French website Leboncoin? https://www.leboncoin.fr/ I've tried to create an account, but the UK isn't on their list of mobile phone numbers, so the account creation stalls. My email is on my Pistonheads account

Thanks in advance

Have you tried using an e-sim? Maya mobile is a website I have used before. That should work?

It is a pain though, have looked on the website before and saw that I couldn't register an account with a UK number.

Unfortunately, that website has a list of countries, and you have to choose one to input your mobile number. Guess what, the UK isn't on it!! So I'm stuck at the moment. Thanks for your input, though.

If you manage to register with a foreign phone, how are you going to get them to post to the UK?

If I could get registered, then I'd be able to message the seller and sort out shipping.

Yeah, sold to someone else and being posted to them that evening.

Was there anything special about that particular setup?

They're very rare. I'm looking into building a 'special' mountain bike using rare stuff if I can find any. There is another one being sold on Leboncoin, this one:- https://www.leboncoin.fr/ad/equipements_velos/3280... Could you check the status of these; if not sold, maybe the seller is open to an offer?

Cheers

Dam !!! Thanks for your help; I'll keep looking there to see if any more pop up.

There is one at €1000, but I think I'll pass on that !!

Cheers

I'm back in UK next week so I won't be able to help.
I think you will struggle to buy from LBC as scams are the same here and people are wary of anything out of the ordinary. Taking payment and shipping would be a No No for most sellers.

I've bookmarked the forks priced at €275; see if it's still there at the end of the week. I'm thinking it would be difficult to scam with this, as they are so dam rare; it would be hard to get pictures. A few pertinent questions should suss out a scammer. I ran the pictures through TinEye and Yandex picture search across the net, and they are almost definitely genuine pictures. You can pay directly to a seller via PayPal if he has a PayPal account with an email address. Then, if it goes pear-shaped, PayPal will refund you.
