Hi Guys i own a lovely Civic type R No Mods except a Full SC Sports Exhaust System and i wondered if there are any Engine mods that would give some extra power for around a £1000...... i.e Remapping etc......also if there is... what sort of power increase are we talking......thanks in advance on any info you lads can give me......!
You've a few options. Remapping is generally more beneficial when you've maxed out on breathing mods. So with that in mind, I'd suggest getting an intake and a 4-2-1 manifold. The latter will require a decat.
At that point you can remap with more effect. Either K100 / KPro or Dastek. Dastek has a bad reputation for simply altering the air fuel and, while there's more to it than that, it does make my DC5 run a little richer. Lots of pops and bangs and I got 14bhp from it with all the breathing mods already in place. Plus you can remove it very easily come sale time.
