Morris website is a problem. Cant get it to work. Spoke to them and unfortunately they need an online form.
Tried egger. Who else is there?
Had no problem with it a couple of days ago - got cover for the 'Ring for my M5 for about £65 a day (admittedly only for £7k of cover though).Tried egger. Who else is there?

Does your ''road policy'' specifically exclude the ring! I am going very shortly and would like to sort out cover.

I've read my policy front to back and there is no mention/exclusion for any track day and thus there is no specific mention of the 'Ring or 'derestricted toll road' or 'road used as a race track' at all.mmm-five said:

There's a couple of reasons...1) Because we all know what insurance companies can be like and I don't fancy spending thousands fighting the industry.
2) If I have to make a claim on the track day cover it will not affect my road NCB - and it will also fund me to the value of repairs rather than it being written off as 'uneconomical to repair' by a normal insurer.
3) I was in the process of renewing my road insurance and couldn't be sure of what the policy exclusions would be until I'd read them in detail. I'm covered either way, but one will be much easier to claim against than the other and I'm still covered fully comp for driving in Europe.

I suspect you might have got a different answer had you made a claim.
I'm with Elephant for road insurance. I read their policy book and it excluded things like "racing, time or speed tests, Nurburgring Nordschlefe". But it didn't specifically exclude Trackdays.
So I phoned them to confirm (not taking any chances) and I pointed out that trackdays were not Explicitly excluded. The guy on the phone said "If it's not on the list of exclustions, then it's not excluded". I didn't record the phone call and although I had the guys name and dept I didn't trust that they would actually pay out.
So I wrote to them to get them to confirm Explicitly that trackdays were not excluded. A couple of letters were exchanged and they told me that track days were EXcluded. Meh. So much for the guy on the phone. I knew I was right not to trust him, cos you can bet it's not his descision whether to pay out or not! Funny how things change when you ask for them in writing and people actually have to bother to find out the real answer.
Anyway, the upshot is that they are not covered and Elephant policy booklets now specifically exclude trackdays too. Don't know whether it was me that prompted that or not, but it's on my new policy doc and wasn't on my old one.
So I buy track cover from Competition Car Insurance, a trading name of Towergate.

I've never had to claim on track day insurance, but I bet the moment I don't get covered I'll be involved in an incident - whether my fault or a 3rd party's.
