Richard Egger Insurance (http://www.richardeggerinsurance.co.uk). Richard knows his stuff, has always been helpful, fair and reasonable with me - he gets all my insurance business now. You won't find better.

I have used these guys and they came up trumps for me, excess was high (10% of vehicle value) but it was 300 quid for peace of mind really!!Jonny

How much is it worth?
I pay £65 per trackday on an extension to my policy with Pace Ward, agreed value including like for like on modifications, no third party liability insurance, no mechanical failure insurance.
My car is worth around £17K all in.

expensive, but fun

if you can get track insurance cover with your road policy it will always work out cheaper. however, don't forget that a claim on a track policy will not effect your no-claims-bonus or road-driving record whereas a claim on your road policy will do. Also, those road policies who DO offer track cover will generally limit to 3-5 track days per year maximum.

£300 + £100 + £50 fuel.
expensive, but fun
For reference my last 4 track days have never cost more than £175 for a full day open pitlane (3 at Oulton Park, 1 at Donington) expensive, but fun

Did manage to spend £80 on fuel last time but that was over 70 laps of OP.
I use competition car insurance and it was 350 quid for the day at goodwood.... yes it was expensive adn the first 10k was down to me but i thought 350 to cover over 90k on the track was wise....especially as someone uninsured stoved their brand new 997 into the wall near the end of the day - lesson learned i think !! But i am hunting for a policy that covers track days as well now as I am with chubb and only benefit of them is that they do guaranteed value if your car is stolen write off etc whereas others try and tell you that is is worth 60 when its nicked and you paid 120 for it the week before !! So any advice welcome here if anyone knows of a GOOD insurance company...
I had a quote of £107 from CCI with a £2k excess, but my road-policy insurer offered me track day cover for £85 per event with a £1k excess if it's my first track day, £500 excess once I've had track experience. I use Noel Dazely for my insurance these day and have only had good experience with them, including a write off (no fault) last year.
It obviously depends on your circumstances, but I have a road policy with Chaucer using Pace Ward as brokers.
As a bolt-on, pay as you go option, I can get track cover with a £1,000 excess for £65 per day covering my car and all mods on a like for like basis.
My car is worth around £17K.

Do any of these guys cover the 'Ring ?
I got a quote for my 535d (£35k) with first £10k up to me fo $420 a day... which I thought was a bit of a p-take.
I'm insured with BMW because they repair using approved BMW parts, free fully-comp green card, etc... but would like to take the 5er and 1er orund 'Ring and Brands a few times a year.
Cheers

No normal insurance companies will cover you around the ring mate!!
Not sure bout track day insurers as its not officially a track day its a toll road!
I think it would be more accurate to say "Few normal insurance companies ..." I've certainly been covered there on my normal insurance, though I didn't make a claim ...Not sure bout track day insurers as its not officially a track day its a toll road!
You are correct about track day insurers though - a TF day isn't a trackday so they aren't going to cover you..
