Had a great time at Prescott Hill climb last weekend.

Got down there on Saturday morning and camped out in the grounds. Beautifull scenery, hot sunny weather, loads of burgers from the CAR.B.Q and beer from Tesco.

Sunday morning brought the actual driving up the hill from 9am to 4pm. The Bugatti Owners Club who own the place told us not to use our crash helmets, they may have thought we would drive slower without them?! A great mix of cars including a V8 Jaguar S Type, a V8 Grand Cheroke Jeep, Civic, RX7, Golf, M3, Time Attack competition cars, EDC competition Drift cars and lots of 200sx.

The track is set in beautifull surroundings with great spectator veiwing, it is 1,127 yards long. It was originally built as a driveway to service a house which was then bought in 1936 by the Bugatti Owners Club for race use. The new owner of the house is making it more difficult for the BOC who still own the road, the agreement is they can only operate 30 times a year which means 2008 and 2009 are fully booked and 2010 selling out quickly.

The corners are tight and the gradient cannot be appreciated from the pictures and videos, I got into 3rd gear 3 times on each run but had to drop to 1st gear twice per run too. The format was open paddock with an hour break for lunch, I went out for three sessions and had 15+ runs. Must have been 250+ hill runs with only one off all day just after the very tight and steep Pardon Hairpin.

The BOC marshalls were great and would chat to you every time round whilst you were waiting in the que for your next run. They set us off at intervals meaning there was no official timing and they said anything under a minute is a good. My only timed run with passenger and stopwatch clocked 55 seconds dead, the hill record though is 37 seconds !!

The SXOC did an amazing job off arranging and organising the event and the staff at Prescott hill were fantastic. If you ever get the chance to run at this event then I would say go for it, what a great experience!

A prepped Imprezza on the hill, quick.
