Is there a favourite trackday intercom? Preferably one that is quick and easy to fix for passengers helmets.

Getting fed up shouting ............

I have a terratrip intercom which is powered either by the car or a 9 volt battery. I've just used a velcro to install it so I can take it off for road driving (will probably get nicked otherwise). Believe it was about 60 GBP plus the in- helmet headsets which are installed quickly also (providing your helmet allows for them).
Found it good value for money although in a open top car it required some fettling with the microphones to eliminate wind noise.

I've got the one the guys at Trackclub use for instruction. Contact Stephen at trackclub.

The setup is an 'on-ear' (as opposed to ear plug based) speaker with a mic attached on a boom. These are pushed up inside each helmet until the earpiece is in place, then the mic adjusted into position. Both pass and driver comms go into a simple 9v control box which allows you to control the volume. I use mine at the 'Ring in a Caterham with an aeroscreen, and even though there is no filtering, or VOX ,etc, the sound is audible up to about 100mph. In a closed cockpit car, I really don't think you need anything more sophisticated (autocom, t/trip, etc). Spend the money on fuel!

Cost around £60 from memory.

I use the WRC rally stuff by Stilo and have brought 5 helmets (S, M, L, XL and XXL) for my clients to use... This is by far the best and most comfortable stuff I have found on the market. Ok, it wasn't cheap buying all the stuff, but it will be of use for a few years.

I used to use the OMP stuff, that you could fit to people'e helmets on the day, but it was hassle and was uncomfortable for some people with specific helmets...
