Silverstone track tyres. Experiences? Specifically FTZ WET
Discussion
For my MK2 Golf track car, I have 2 sets of wheels, 1 for the dry / damp which have 888`s on.
Another set that is for wet tyres only. I currently have Parada Spec-2`s on, but they are only OK in the wet.
what do people recommend as wet tyres for when it is chucking it down. I know 888`s are OK in the damp, but if it is really wet, I find them hopeless on the Golf, I just can`t get the rears warm at all. I struggle to get them hot in the damp and fail miserably in the wet with standing water.
I was hoping the Toyo R1R`s may be a good choice, but they are not in this country until next year (according to Steve @ simply tyres) I also really like the look of the Kumho W710`s (if they are ever released).
However, whilst searching I have stumbled on the Silverstone FTZ WET tyre which appears to be a dedicated wet tyre and what I`m looking for. Searches of the net didn`t bring up any reviews of them, but in this thread http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... the Silverstone RR (Toyo 888 equivalent) appears to be pretty good.
Any experiences with Silverstone tyres, particularly their wets ?
