Nurburgring Local Maps?
Discussion
Going to the Nurburgring at the end of August. As the Mrs is coming as well I'm hopeing to park her in a few different places and get her to take photos etc.
So what I'd really like is something like a local OS map for the nurburgring and surrounding roads so we can
a)Identify the places for good spectating.
b)Work out how to get to them using the map.
Any hints?

The TD garage sells a range of good local maps - there is one that is pretty much just the circuit and immediate surroundings at a large scale. I actually have one somewhere so can dig it out for the reference if you like.So what I'd really like is something like a local OS map for the nurburgring and surrounding roads so we can

However, I would say (and whether this is my innate patriotism or prejudice I don't know) but NO other maps are anywhere near as good as OS maps.

It might be a daft suuggestion but what about using google maps in conjuntion with viewing suggestions on Ben Lovejoy/Bridge to Gantry and Northloop sites?

Yeah I thought about that but it's just not as good as a "real map" as your limited to A4 size. I was hopeing to mark the places mentioned on the web on the real map rather than printouts.

Sadly true. OS maps kick ass!The TD garage... Petrol station near the 'ring?

The station (and other local shops) offers a plasticated folding map of the circuit, including all the hiking and mountain bike routes, parking areas, villages in the immediate vicinity, etc. I've had one hanging on my kitchen door for years.
I think they're 9 Euros.

All your viewing places are belong to us
A trip to Cochem may well be worthwhile if there's a day or morning the track isn't open whilst out there.

Some how I'd missed that link... A trip to Cochem may well be worthwhile if there's a day or morning the track isn't open whilst out there.
I'll still get a map though as I think it'll make it easier to navigate to the suggested points. We have chosen to deliberately go the weekend where both days are open to all. Assuming no-one closes it having accidents....
There is an excellent 1:25000 scale map of the 'Ring area, OS style fully detailed with footpaths, contours etc.
Can't remember the title or publisher, but it's called something like "walking & Cycling map" and in a green cover.
They still had them in stock at the ARAL petrol station at Breidshied when I was in there on Monday.
The Northloop POIs for Tom-Tom (link in posts above) is pretty handy too!

Got to admire your optimism....There were at least three closures last weekend (Sunday and half-day Monday). Fortunately none of them were for long, or for anyting too serious, health-wise, but there are always closures of one sort or another!
Available from all good online bookshops it seems
