Harness for children?
Discussion
Does anyone know if such a thing as a racing harness is available for children?
Adult sized ones are much too wide at shoulder to waist level & a narrower one would probably be ideal.
I'm after something like a four point with a standard 'road use' type clip at waist level rather than the race-spec quick release.
This is for three budding back-seat drivers - reaching across to get three three-point belts done up around booster seats is a bit of a pain, whereas front-fastening belts would be a lot simpler to deal with.
A set of belts like this would also enable me to keep one of our cars longer - it only has a lap belt in the centre - which has been fine until now with a baby seat but that's been outgrown.
many thanks,

Can't quite figure out what you mean by that. You saying that the attachment between the shoulder straps and the waist bane are too far apart? There are plenty of harnesses around that have the shoulder straps connecting to a central buckle in the middle of the waist band, unfortunately these tend to be the more expensive ones but on the plus side they are far easier to get in and out of than those cheap ones with a push-button release. What I meant was that there's often a fixed length between where the strap from the shoulder comes down to meet the waist strap - however now you mention it maybe the quick release type fixing is the solution as that is 'free' compared to the road type setup.
Don't have my car in the garage to check. Then again the multi-point release could be almost as fiddly to get fastened as the current OEM seat belts.
The main risk I see of using an adult sized on is a child slipping between the harness at shoulder level - perhaps a tether across the chest linking the two harness straps would reduce this risk.
Maybe I should just buy that Q7...

Erm - out of curiosity - why? It isn't as if track day organizers will allow you to take children out...
This isn't for track day use - it's for road use - just thought the track day forum may be better up to speed on this type of question. Although, at 8, N24 senior has had several laps on the Nurburgring (using an adult-sized harness)

Is there an age limit? I once took a mate's 15 year old cousin out on track.System-G said:
