Anglesey - Any good?

Im thinking of taking my 993 to Anglesey for a track day on 15th Nov. I live in the North West and am looking for a safe track to play on; i.e; no close barriers like Oulton! I am a novice having only done Brunters this year but am pretty smooth and safe.
What do you guys (And gals!) think of it as a track?

Personally,, i thought the tarmac although VERY smooth, As its brand new, was very slippery. The car Understeered everywhere...Both in the dry + wet...
Im NOT the only person the find this. A friend who races Formula Fords, also finds this happening...Its also VERY abrasive....
Yes its a bit "soulless" but thats because there aint any trees around, Its aparently a lot better now theyve put curbs in..

does a lack of grip only affect the front tyres then and not the rears? If so, why not swap the wheels round and have oversteer instead? I fail to see how the level of grip offered by the tarmac can induce understeer - surely that's always down to the driver?Big 968 Dave said:

Anglesey circuit is the only circuit in the country that has good grip consistently around the circuit, in both wet & dry conditions. Your description of the surface as being VERY abrasive contradicts the fact you find it slippery, & I would suggest the main cause of understeer is definately down to aggressive driver input. If you think Anglesey is slippery in the wet, have you tried Oulton or Donington????Im NOT the only person the find this. GREAT!,and there was me looking at this thread and weighing up whether or not I would book a day at Anglesey only to discover that the November day I have booked at Donington could be more slippery than some if it should rain!, which it almost undoubtedly will 
I was there a week ago in a Juno - thought it would be too "mickey mouse" (the national config) but it was great fun. School is epic, and the tight left right after seriously made me realise how much fitter / more upper body strength I need to develop (I cannot imagine doing 2 hour VdeV stints there). The other, longer configs would be even better. The only downside for me is the pits/paddock are a bit underdeveloped - no garages and lots of stones to pick up on sticky tyres...

I went there for the first time in August, and my fourth trackday in total. Didn't do -that- many laps, as still exploring what the car (and I) can and can't do, and yes, the tyres still took a little bit of a beating.
However... I thought it was an awsome place - plenty of run-off in what looked like the right places, which some people seemed to need, and a fantastic layout - I think it was the Coastal layout that I did. The variations in height are fantastic, and there's one section where you drive out though a right hander and head downhill towards a left. On that section you see very little track, but plenty of sky and sea, so have to concentrate on the driving, not the location! I actually think the place is anything but soul-less.
The tarmac seems recent, and I quite liked the large, relaxed paddock area. Although the gravel trackway that you have to drive over to get to the paddock was a bit of a bone-shaker. On the day we were there, we had sunshine in the morning, and rain towards the middle of the afternoon, which is to be expected given where it is.
All in all, I was actually very impressed. I can see it taking a little while to actually 'nail' the circuit, and would probably recommend some tuition just to really understand the right lines.
It doesn't have the facilities in terms of garages that somewhere like Brands or Snetterton has, but so long as you don't expect (or even want) that, I think it's a great day out.

Hi - Enjoyed watching you going in the Juno (I was in the CSL). Buying it ?Only done the National circuit but found tyre wear very good (even leaving two black lines out of the final hairpin). Bit twisty for a 'saloon' car but great for the small two seaters.
Agree with the comments about the pits and car park - felt a bit 'cheap' compared to Oulton and Donnington.
But thought the overall package through bookatrack was very good indeed.
